Personal Circumstances Related to My Financial Need for a Scholarship

My name is Alfred Bill and I am 25 years of age. I have just completed my first-degree major in English Literature. My plan is to pursue my master degree in the same course. However, my personal financial circumstances are hindering me in achieving my academic goal. My father is a small scale farmer while my mother helps him in his farming work. My parents have 7 children and I am the fourth child among our children. The goal of my parents is to educate all their children assisting them completing the graduate programs, however, based on the little incomes my father realize from his farming profession, he is unable sponsoring his children beyond the undergraduate level. While I have already completed my fist degree, however, I am unable to pursue my master degree because of my present financial circumstances. Moreover, I do not have a full time paid job that can help financing my master education. In this wise, I will need financial assistance to complete my master's program. Securing financial assistance to pursue my academic program is my ultimate goal. I hope I will be one of those special people whom you will help with financially, and it is a great honor to submit my application for a financial assistance.

2. Academic and Career Goals

My academic goal is to pursue a master degree in English Literature, and my career goal is to become a professional writer. In the present job environment, increasing number of companies prefer job applicants with master's degrees. Thus, I will like to pursue my master program to stand a chance of securing a well-paid job.

4. Leadership Roles and Community Involvement

Since my high school days, I love participating in the voluntary works in our community. Assisting the underprivileged children are my major voluntary activities, I use to do. During my undergraduate days, I participated in teaching the underprivileged students whose their parents are unable to sponsor them to good schools. Some of these schools do not have qualify teachers, thus, I volunteer teaching in these schools to help the students with their academic careers. Presently, I am involved in working with monitoring and volunteering organizations such as Volunteers of America, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and Women Leaders Better Tomorrow. Moreover, I use my critical thinking skills with ability solve problems to assist my people in solving their problems. Apart from my passion for writing, I am also good in providing professional advice in solving personal problems.
