¶ … deserve the tickets to the Lakers/Miami Heat game on Christmas Day

Some people are fickle fans. But win or lose, year after year, my team loyalty and affiliation has remained with the Lakers. Even during their recent losing streak, my belief is unshaken. I still believe that they can generate the necessary mojo to dominate over the Miami Heat in the teams' upcoming match-up and the victory will be even sweeter because it is so long-anticipated and hard-won.

Spending Christmas Day with a team that I love would be the best Christmas present I could ever hope to receive. Because of the expenses of the season, like buying gifts for my family, I do not have enough money to buy Lakers tickets for myself. Getting these tickets would allow me to honor my family, and honor the team I love. I could spend time with my family -- and also a family of fans that shakes my passion for the team.

Playing basketball on Christmas Day is a long-standing tradition for the Lakers. I have always fantasized about seeing them play great basketball during the 'most wonderful time of the year.' For most people, the colors of the winter holiday season are green and red -- but for me, they are always purple and gold. I believe this upcoming game will also prove to be a classic, historic match-up, as the Lakers are playing the famous -- some say the infamous -- Miami Heat.

LeBron James' recent decision to 'go for the money' when selecting his newest team affiliation has made him one of the most-watched players in the NBA. LeBron's talents (if not his ethics) cannot be questioned. I cannot wait to see a face-off between Kobe Bryant and LeBron on such a highly-anticipated occasion. Both players know that the nation's eyes will be watching their every move and every game-time motion will be critiqued and torn apart by professional and amateur commentators alike.

Last year, during the Lakers' Christmas game, the Lakers were routed by Cleveland, thanks to the talents of LeBron. This year's game is a grudge match against LeBron as well as an opportunity to show that the last several losses for the Lakers were flukes and not indicative of the overall strength of the team. All of the fans hope that this year the Lakers will be playing in the NBA finals this July. Additionally, after as he was ejected from the end of the last, disappointing game, I know that Kobe Bryant will be ready to fight -- and win -- on the holiday. I believe he will be the 'Grinch' that steals the Heat's thunder and breaks its streak of victories.

Christmas is not just about presents -- it is also about having memorable experiences. Having the experience of seeing my team win with other loyal fans would make this the most special Christmas I have ever experienced, the most memorable in my life since I was young and still believed in Santa Claus. Of course, even cheering on the best of teams still requires a great deal of faith and belief, and I have that faith regarding my team's ability to triumph on Christmas Day.
