Washington Post staff writers Joby Warrick and Dan Eggen, reported in the November 14 issue of the scandal concerning a female agent whose immigration procedures had been compromised due to false documents. Nada Nadim Prouty was found to actually be an illegal alien with hair raising close ties to militant members of Hezbollah.

Following with Mohsin Hamid's opinion, this incident shows the lack of knowledge the American public has concerning government matters. The failure of the FBI and CIA to screen out possibly dangerous people with ties to Hezbollah has become a public outcry. Both agencies failed to catch obvious discrepancies in the ex-employees marriage and immigration documents.

The public had no idea of such failures within the government system. Most have faith in the policies and capabilities of major agencies, such as the FBI a CIA. This incident shows the ignorance of American citizens in regards to the happenings of government agencies and the real policies which those agencies follow, which follows Hamid's concerns about American's ignorance towards more dubious foreign policies over the years.

Washington Post Staff Writer Walter Pincus discussed the nature of the current wave of immigration of Iraqi refugees and U.S. policy regarding limiting numbers from rising too high. Although around 2,000 refugees in Iraq arrive in the United States per year, there have been many denials. What Pincus points out is that the policy regarding dealing with these refugees is improving to better help provide them a safe environment.

This improved policy on immigration of war refugees coming out of Iraq will most defiantly disperse this group within a wider spectrum of the population. This dispersion will also spread the real life stories of those refugees who actually lived in the war zone, thousands of miles from American soil. Here is where Hamid's opinions start to take over.
