Life Coaching The author of this report is asked to take a bit of source material from a certain author and then try to define and quantify what it means to be a life coach. This would include what to do, what not to do and why. Methods that work will be seized on while methods that do not work will be eschewed. There is a science and a proper method to being a good life coach and this report shall focus on all of that and more. While some people are confused about what it means to be a good life coach, there are obvious and even apparent things that can and should be done.

A major focus of any life coach and, by extension, the client of a life coach is to focus on solutions in terms of overall approach. Indeed, a life coach is going to be focused on solutions. Life coaches can and should focus less on traditional problem solving and more on positivity and solutions. Focusing too much on the past and who was to blame and why can lead to bogging down and this can lead to failure (Schlundt-Bodien, 2011).
When it comes to a solution-based approach, there are a couple of assumptions that can and should be in place. First of all, there is not a huge need to analyze and diagnose problems to find solutions to the problem. Secondly, there should be a vivid description of the desired future and how the changes that lead to this future can be undertaken. Third, there is an assumption that the problem will fluctuate in intensity and scope. What worked in the past and what did not will be focused on as this is the best way to achieve success in the future.
