Job Satisfaction and Requirements If I were responsible for formulating a team charter, there are several points of pertinent information I would make sure are included in it. One of the most important of these is the form of communication to be used by the team members, as well as the regularity of that communication. The team should meet comprehensively a minimum of two to three times a week. These meetings are to monitor progress and deal with any issues as they arise.

The frequency of these meetings and the various points of checking for progress and any problems would help to prevent social loafing. In fact, preventing that phenomenon is one of the chief goals of this part of the charter. Most teams do not meet frequently enough; the aforementioned charter can change that. Unit 7 Discussion What I would tell this recent college graduate is that the $35,000 offered by his prospective place of employment is merely a starting point for negotiating.

To do so successfully, I would tell him to quote and even provide a reference to the information he has about the average starting salary being $38,000. I would also tell him to list all of his accolades and accomplishments during his collegiate experience -- particularly his GPA. He should also get recommendations for professors in his core classes that relate to the job.

Most importantly, perhaps, he should emphasize how much he wants to work for this employer, yet reference other job openings, interviews, and options that he has for such a position so that he has a best alternative on which to rely (Venter, 2009). DISCUSSION 2 The focus of the article I read was the five bases of power themselves. They were explicated in terms of their history and their relationship to the various sources from which power stems.

The primary form of power that I tend to use most frequently is expert power. Power is distinct from politics in that in the realm of politics, people have common sources of power and are all vying for it. Politics is the contention of power; power is merely a thing unto itself. The main way that I see expert power utilized is in the writing of various articles related to information technology, where the author has the ability to sway with his expertise (Mohn, 2015) in the subject.

I was pointing out the flaws of another employer's behavior, and she attempted to persuade me that I was paranoid about this situation. Her unwanted, unprofessional, and unsubstantiated diagnosis directly led to my desire to terminate the professional relationship -- which I did within a month.

The issues in the communication process itself that changed the situation was her bluntness in offering this unsolicited prognosis. Additionally, her obstinacy contributed to it as well, since I specifically told her I was offended by her assumption and she kept saying it.
