Police HR Comparison
Hazlet Township
http://hazletpba.com/
The Hazlet Township's police department does not have formal human resources or hiring policy published on a website. However, the police force in this area seems to have a strong labor union known as the Hazlet Township Police Benevolent Association (Hazlet Township P.B.A.). This organization was founded in 1969 and is very active in the local community. It is reasonable to believe that becoming a member of this union would be a prerequisite for finding employment in this department. The labor unions stated goals are as follows:
As a labor union, we are dedicated to being proactive concerning working conditions, salaries, benefits, and pensions. It is the union's duty to strive to protect the rights of the officers of the Hazlet Township Police Department according to our labor contract, department rules and regulations, and local, state, and federal law.

The Department is governed by rules promulgated by the New Jersey Department of Personnel. As such we may only hire from the list that is supplied to us by the State. Individuals wishing to pursue a career with our Police Department must obtain a test application through the NJ Department of Personnel. Further information may be obtained at www.nj.gov/csc
