All of the # Dad Mugs in the World Suddenly Change to Show the Actual Ranking of Dads

Thesis: The sudden realization of the true rankings of #1 Dad mugs brings a strange sense of disillusionment and uncertainty, but also a newfound appreciation for the importance of being an active, loving father.

Outline

I. Introduction

A. Hook: I describe the surreal experience of seeing all of the traditional #1 Dad mugs suddenly changing to reveal their true rankings. It startles me and is at first unpleasant not finding myself #1—or even in the top #100. I find my name way down around the bottom 40th percentile. How discouraging! I thought I was a much better dad than that. I pause to reflect. Maybe I’m not as great a dad as I assumed.

B. Thesis Statement

II. Body

A. I describe the initial shock and disbelief of watching the mugs change before my eyes.

B. Explain how the mugs’ new rankings bring into question the idea of who truly deserves to be called the “#1 Dad.” I look over my shoulder at Gary who is in the top 10. Really? Gary? I always believed he was a total loser of a dad.
