Having come of age during a time of widespread economic instability, myself and the generation of young adults who are my peers have been forced to recalibrate our collective expectations. The pursuit of personal profit, while en vogue during prior decades, has been revealed to be a ruse as the Great Recession rolls onward, and this revelation has compelled the youth of today to turn increasingly toward the realm of public service.
