The Past of green technology
Previously, there might have not been a lot of emphasis on green technology, maybe this way because of the normal conditions that had not changed due to the global warming as it is in the present time. Lately, green has become the new terminology in politics, business, lifestyle and virtually everywhere in the world today. Green is an ideology which aims at the creation of a society which is ecologically sustainable which is deeply rooted in environmentalism or is inclined towards the improvement and conservation of the environment. Going green should not be a daunting task which means sweeping life changes but it is a great choice for the environment, your pocket and even your health.
Current trends in green technology
More and more people are now getting interested in going green, the purchase of organic products and the ultimate protection of the environment due to various reasons. There are various things that we are doing to make the world green. These include; reducing, reusing and recycling.in a society that is consumerist it is quite difficult for one to go without buying anything for even a day ( Metcalf, 2013). Therefore, when buying items it is advisable that we buy those that are long-lasting which can serve more than one purpose. People are now avoiding the purchase of disposable items as much as possible. Nowadays before throwing things people ensure that they try finding out the creative ways that exist in re-using them.
People have now found out uses of empty plastic bottles, plastic bags, old altoid tins and so many more. People are now playing a role in the reduction of global warming. This is achieved through reducing the dependence and use of fossil fuels. They are now relying on other renewable and clean sources of energy and reducing the use of fossil fuels. People are now saving water through various ways such as taking shorter showers, which lowers both water and heating bills. The installation of low-flow showerheads saves on water and energy. Planting of drought-resistant plants in gardens which require minimal watering hence save on water. Therefore, saving water in the end helps in saving money. People are now avoiding the trashing of electronics. This means that they are now keeping their mobile phones, computers as well as other electronics as long as possible. This is because the electronics contain mercury and other toxins which have been a growing problem in the environment. People are now opting to either donate or recycle them so as to avoid E-waste (Kennedy, 2010).

The company is now buying paper that adheres to strict standards and its production is done in a sustainable way.
Staples is a company that relies on solar panels at almost all its locations .the company has also done a great job in the recycling of printer ink cartridges. Intel is also at the forefront of going green through the reduction of green house gas emission by 30% over a period of the last five years. More and more companies are now translating the green ideology to their presence online. Corporate websites are now making consumers aware of the green options that are currently available.
