American Association of Healthcare Administration (AAHAM)
-National Membership: Individual certifications require different qualifications, i.e. a college degree or healthcare experience.
-Part-Time Student membership:
Students currently enrolled in 6 to 11 credit hours per semester.
-Full-Time Student Membership:
Students enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
Note: Student membership does not confer certain certification and voting rights to the member.

I will have more advanced (and up-to-date) knowledge about various patient accounting matters, i.e. in relation to guidelines and regulations. This would translate to better management of the facility’s revenue cycle.
Association for Healthcare Administrative Professionals (AHCAP)
Meeting certain Certification requirements, i.e. professional experience – with at least half of job duties being related to administration.

I am of the opinion that the facility should participate in HCAA so as to better collaborate with other stakeholders and engage in exchange of ideas, while at the same time gaining access to resources that could aid sustainability efforts and further the quality healthcare delivery agenda.
Medical Group Management Association (MGMA)

An individual enrolled in a business or healthcare-related degree program
Faculty Membership:
A member of faculty in an institution of higher learning who teaches healthcare or business administration.

I will be better equipped to address and derive solutions for the various practice management issues I encounter at the facility. This is more so the case given that membership will in this case give me access to training resources as well as tools of relevance in this regard.
