Personal Statement for Leadership Position Beginning in 2007, with the decision to join then-Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign as an earnest volunteer, my personal commitment to political activism has continued to improve my leadership and managerial skill set. While my journey through America's political system was rooted in idealism at the onset, and became predictably pragmatic as I learned the intricacies of modern campaigning at the highest level, throughout those five years I discovered a genuine passion for motivating others to achieve organizational goals.
