These animals as will be discussed below, provide benefits that are both financially and health driven. No only do they provide a benefit to society in the form of better health outcomes, the organization provides a necessary service to help prevent stray animals for roaming and multiplying around the nation.

In particular, American’s love their pets. Nearly ninety-one million families own a pet in the United States alone. This statistic has steadily increased over the decades, where pet ownership rates were extremely low. Numerous studies have shown the benefits of owning a pet. The health benefits which include exercise, emotional balance, social interaction, and friendship all aid society in multiple ways. These benefits have been exacerbated by the recent COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on mental health. Pet ownership has been shown to actually help ameliorate many of the negative elements associated with mental illness. Likewise, these options also provide a means to help protect animals that are experiencing abuse within the home environment. As a result, I believe that the Tail’s Humane Society, located in Dekalb, Illinois is worthy of a $100,000 donation.

Unfortunately, pets often endure various forms of animal cruelty. Some humans use animals for testing and even fighting for entertainment. There have been incidents in which animals are subjected to cruel punishments, in part, due to the wicked tendencies of their owner. These punishments can vary dramatically in severity and can cause unnecessary harm to pet and other animals. Likewise, those committing these acts often reinforce often negative behaviors that run counter to societal norms. As a result there is a need for organizations designed to help alleviate these concerns related to animal protections and their subsequent rights. It is important to have a viable humane society to properly handle the cases related to inappropriate treatment of animals.

To begin, the Tails Humane Society is a small organization that provides critical services to potential pet owners in the Dekalb county area. Here, the society has provided care for over 3400 homeless animals. The organization is responsible for nearly 9,000 volunteer hours designed to help mitigate many of the negative influence plaquing the animal community. The organization offers a large assortment of programs designed to properly match pets with their potential owners. The most prominent program is that of the foster program. Many of the animals rescued are apart of this program which results in qualified candidates adopting a pet of their choosing. Fostering is unique in that potential household do not need to commit full time to a particular animal. Instead, those looking to volunteer will take care of the pet for a specified period of time, helping the pet to grow and develop. Here, Tails will provide all the food, supplies and veterinary care needed. Foster families will provide the care and nourishment many of these animals crave. Once the period of complete the animals are returned to the humane society where they will await families willing to take care of the animals on a full-time basis.

The program also provides many other ancillary services that can help eldering personnel deal with taking care of their pets. Here, individuals created fake companies, fake non-profits, or other organizations as a means of obtaining funds meant for real businesses. These individuals in turn, took the funds and purchased Lamborghinis, expensive homes, and lavish lifestyles. In addition to the fraudulent behavior with PPP funds, charitable church organizations have also been known to scam their constituents. Under the guise of charity, these organizations attempt to scam their church going patrons through donations and prayer, thus undermining the overall integrity of giving. As a result, by providing critical financial data, the organization is providing information important and relevant to those looking to donate their dollars to a worthy cause. In addition, the dollars donated are of benefit not only to animals but to human’s as well. Tails Humane Society not only saves the lives of animals but can indirectly prolong the life of other human beings. Pets, through studies have been known to help foster better cognitive development, higher confidence, more responsibility, and even lower stress levels. These benefits work far beyond the life of the pet, and often help to prolong the life of humans through the relationship developed with their individual pet. Ultimately, this helps to benefit society through lower healthcare costs, higher productivity, and much more motivated society.
