Humanitarian Lesson In fulfilling my appreciation for life and all of its wonderful experiences, I have dedicated my efforts to learning and helping others in their journey. Acceptance into "insert schools name" Healthcare Management program appears to be the pathway on which I can continue my studies and contribute to my community and environment. The decision to contact and ultimately apply to this program is a direct result of the summation of my life experiences.

As a child, my main interests always centered around the healing processes and how these processes can be maximized for full efficiency and effectiveness. This field of study both satisfies my internal desire to help others while providing a useful and appropriate means of attaining a respectful and worthwhile career in medicine and healing. To me, life is a reward and should not be undervalued or marginalized.

Protecting this gift by applying methods and systems to help heal the body and mind has been a lifelong goal of mine and I feel that I am prepared to enter your program and excel at the many challenges that the staff and faculty of the organization will present. One of the main appeals of this program is the many challenges that are inherent within the structure of this field of study.

My undergraduate education at "insert school here" provided a baseline of information and tools to assist me on my decision and has provided a solid background on which to build upon. While my past course of studies have been helpful, I feel that I would benefit even more from being exposed to a higher level of information and techniques that could provide a mastery of the subject. I feel I would strengthen this program and become a valued student within the department and throughout the campus.

I am very confident in my abilities and know that when determined, I can succeed at whatever I do and relish the opportunity to impress not others, but myself. Much of my confidence was gained during a recent humanitarian mission to the African nation of Ghana. In this extremely deprived environment, riddled by poverty, AIDS and despair, I gained a true appreciation for my own life and realized that my purpose is to help others in these types of environment.

In Ghana, I was part of a leadership team that opened up a MASH unit in "insert Ghana town name." As part of a team of 40 workers, we began treating children and young people who we could help only after a deciding how many of the children were actually treatable. This challenging and heartbreaking scenario became a pivotal moment in my life. When only 44 of the hundreds of children were deemed treatable, I soon realized the reality and finality of death.

This humbling experience has led me to your programs as I feel I could incorporate this impactful episode into a healthcare management career that understands some of the more grim and frank circumstances surrounding healing and medicine. Being around dying children has inspired me to contribute to something greater than myself and has provided an outlet to help utilize my.
