HYPNOSIS and MY STORY Recently, I began experiencing difficulty sleeping as well as usual. Instead of falling asleep quickly and sleeping through the night, I had begun taking much longer to fall asleep and frequently woke up several times during the night. Sometimes, I woke up several hours before the time my alarm clock was set to wake me up and never managed to fall back to sleep. My physician examined me and concluded that my sleeping difficulty is not the result of any physical ailment or condition. He asked whether I was aware of anything that was troubling me lately and I answered (honestly) that I was not consciously aware of anything in particular that was on my mind that might cause my sleeping problem. In my first session with the hypnotist, I was successfully induced into a hypnotic state during which the hypnotist asked me what I've been worrying about lately. I responded "I owe a lot of money." The hypnotist then followed up with questions designed to determine what I meant and I subsequently revealed that I have concerns about my student loans and that the current economic crisis is the reason that I have begun worrying about this now.
