¶ … Cairo Egypt.... I elementary

Egypt is largely considered to be one of the cradles of civilization when considering its history, its culture, and the numerous notable figures that it is responsible for holding throughout history. Even with this, its current capital, Cairo, does not have a significant connection to Ancient Egypt. Cairo's greatest connection to the area it is located in when considering the context of Ancient Egypt is the fact that it is located in the vicinity of the ancient of Memphis, an Egyptian inhabitance built by the first Pharaoh, Menes. The city's name originates from the Arabic expression Al-Q-hirah, which means the triumphant or the victorious. Cairo is the largest city on the African continent and is largely a center of cultural life and politics when considering the African region it is located in as a whole.

It would be safe to say that Cairo is both a historic and a historical city when taking into account its background. The former is because it holds a great deal of monuments that are essential in shaping the history of the world and the latter because it has taken part in a series of events that have taken place throughout history. Ranging from the early Pharaohs to the Roman occupation of the area and to more recent times when it has played an important role in the Ottoman Empire and later in North Africa as a whole, Cairo has experienced some of history's most impressive moments and its legacy makes it possible for both visitors and locals to acknowledge the city's importance.

Upon a visit in Cairo one is likely to observe a great deal of elements that emphasize the city's connection with Egyptian history in general. Visiting the Cairo Tower provides an opportunity to gain a more complex understanding of the city. While the building itself is not very attractive, the fact that it is the tallest in the city makes it possible for visitors to have a magnificent view of the city's surroundings and the multitude of Pharaonic, Coptic, and Islamic artifacts located in the region. Egypt holds a great deal of beauties and a simple trip across the city can reveal numerous monuments that are thousands of years old and that are half-forgotten. It is likely that the numerous monuments spread across the city are responsible for hiding less popular ones and this is all the more intriguing when discovering them.
