Vision

Vision validation is portrayed using a triangle whose points represent judgment, intuition and action with the center having collective experiences of the team. These four concepts come handy in validating the firm's vision "…to pursue excellence in the field of arboriculture, and to be of utmost service to our customers & #8230;" The firm's judgment relies upon past experiences in managing initiatives like the new venture they are intending to form. The founders have led vision creation exercises in the past, thus used good judgment in formulating the vision (Abell, 1978). The firm's vision is acceptable to all customers, potential investors, as well as employees. Intuition is essential for the firm in understanding consequences of any decision made concerning business activities. Intuition gives the firm insight whether the business is growing at the right pace in realization of the vision. Based on the notion that the vision is actionable, it can be acted upon in combination with both intuition and judgment. Past experiences including successes are handy in validating the vision; they are learning points for the firm in making better decisions and strategies for growing the organization.

Mission Statements

In validating the mission, major initiatives undertaken by the firm involving resource allocation and performance in external environments will be taken into consideration. First, the company's values are available to all employees and are easily revisited for members to update with them (Tichy, 1983). This helps avoid chances of the mission failing to reflect the business' culture. Besides, contradictory behavior to the mission is confronted by giving feedback to individuals dissatisfied with the organization's mission. The firm in addition, seeks for customers, employees and other stakeholders' views about the organization's mission.

Internal and External Environmental Analysis

Environmental analysis is essential for the evaluation of internal and external factors impacting the organizations' performances. The internal factors are the organization's strengths and weaknesses while the external factors are opportunities and strengths (Chandler, 1962).

For this validation, the sources of internal environmental analysis include stable workforce, proprietary systems and methods. Besides, other sources are labor-union problems, obsolete equipment, as well as obsolete facilities. External analysis sources encompass creating new markets, beneficial alliances, and positive trade agreements. Moreover, negative governmental regulations, international conflict, or natural disasters form part of the external environment. In addition, for the validation, constant stream of pertinent information is necessary for the external and internal environmental analysis. Online, printed, and television business news sources report on external conditions impacting business operations and performance (Anderson, 2005). Data from these sources are used in evaluating and determining course of actions to reduce business expenditure and capitalize on opportunities. Besides, validating environmental analysis helps the firm identify; opportunities, such as new markets before competitors and is vital in evaluating the business strategies financial potentials.
