¶ … Software Engineering)
Statement of purpose: Software engineering M.A.
Software engineering offers rapidly-expanding career opportunities and has the ability to shape our collective futures in so many critical areas, including the way we communicate, do business, and structure our lives. I am eager to sharpen my skills so I can become more competitive as an employee in this field. I currently hold a B.A. In software engineering from the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT), Dar Al-Uloom University of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I feel fully qualified to continue to pursue my education in an English-speaking country and believe that studying engineering in English is essential, given the dominance of English language-speaking companies in my chosen field.
As well as my B.A., I have certificates in a variety of areas, including SharePoint Event, SQL Server Path Event, and Google Event. Beyond my academic background, I gained knowledge and work experience in my position with Java Gulf where I worked with SAP ABAP-Netweaver 7.0; Introduction to SAP and SAP Navigation; Introduction to ABAP Programming; WebDynpro; and Adobe Forms. I also worked for IYA Investment as an IT administrator. I think that I am at the perfect juncture to begin graduate study: I have enough experience working in the field to understand the practical demands of a software engineer yet my education is still fresh enough in my mind that I am still open to learning as much as possible as I can every day.
Throughout my education, I have attended conferences and taken certificate courses in my field to broaden my education. I am accustomed to juggling academic, personal, and professional commitments: not only am I am an engaged and curious learner, I also have mastered the art of multitasking and balancing competing obligations out of necessity. I believe that I would be able to be an engaged participant in all of my classes and could act as a valuable asset to the education of others during class discussions and team projects.
Although I am a hard worker and an eager learner, obtaining a master's would give greater structure to my course of self-study that I could not obtain on my own. I also hope to be a committed volunteer for my new school community: I was a member of a community service club as an undergraduate and hope to continue my participation in service-related activities in graduate school.
