¶ … Rudestam and Newton's wheel of research is very appropriate in the larger scheme of learning and understanding new knowledge. Since any valuable systematic approach to knowledge ultimately leads to wisdom, which in turn leads to new questions, that require new answers. Much like a wheel or a circle the revolutions are orbital in nature and any investigation along these lines will return to the point of origin which is mystery and curiosity. Fortunately, as you expressed there are no single best means of traversing this circular path.

Response In responding to your personal choice for a premise, I applaud your decision making methods to reach your conclusions. I feel that solving local problems is very important and this approach makes the most sense in almost all cases in economic and effectiveness terms. Your comments on the three step dissertation process is clear and concise and you made your points with an understanding of the readings and general purposes of the research process.

I also agree that a hands on approach is necessary for grasping at the most important significant results of the research process that present the challenges that lie before us in this academic journey towards higher learning.

Response 3 While Rudestam and Newton (2007) echoed your comments about the challenges and overwhelming amounts of research that contribute to a systematic dissertation approach that includes the premise, prospectus and proposal, it is more obvious to me how much effort must be expended to understand a relatively small portion of the totality of human knowledge. Your explanation of this systematic approach towards learning is clear and presents the ideas contained in the reading in a very understandable and approachable manner that summarizes the main points succinctly.

I am interested in learning more about your dissertation subject as your journey continues. Response 4 I appreciate your commentary and summation of the very important topic that is the dissertation process. As you do not go into any specific detail as to how this information may affect your ability to navigate the many challenges that lie ahead, suggest to me that you are well on your way to deeply considering an important topic that simply needs more time to dwell in your consciousness.

Regardless of your ideas that will be used for your actual project, your writing reflects a strong understanding of the research dissertation process and how it can be used in a general and practical manner. Response 5 I appreciate the clarity and ease of understanding that is contained within the summation of the dissertation process. This preliminary knowledge, to me, provides the fundamental and basic framework on how to think, and simply not what to think.

I think that is what you are hinting at in your writings as you describe the idea that systematic wisdom is a tool that can be applied to any subject regardless of its complex.
