Historical significance of Augustus Caesar, Shihuangdi, and imperial authority

¶ … growing power of the Patricians during the fifth century B.C. influenced the Plebeians in wanting to have political equality to the upper classes. The common people realized that they held great power in the state and that by emphasizing the important role they played they would succeed in persuading Patricians to share their power. The fact that Rome was at war with neighboring tribes concomitantly with this conflict enabled Patricians to understand that they had to cede power in order to achieve success.

Plebeians were unsatisfied with the unimportant role they held in politics and they struggled to make Patricians provide them with the opportunity to occupy public offices. In spite of the fact that they were provided with access to all offices, the Plebeians continued to be control by Patricians through other means and the condition of the average Plebeian did not change significantly.

Augustus Caesar is the first emperor of the Roman Empire and one of the individuals responsible for participating in the civil wars that overthrew the Roman Republic. He was born Gaius Octavius Thurinus and came into prominence consequent to the assassination of Julius Caesar. The Roman citizen initially considered that his mission was to create a society that would contrast the one that he helped topple. Even though he encountered serious resistance in the first years of his ruling in the military dictatorship he created along with Mark Anthony and Marcus Aemilius Lepidus, he was eventually able to announce the forming of the Roman Empire, the best solution that he could possibly think of considering the circumstances.

Augustus played an essential role in improving conditions across the Empire, considering that he enlarged its borders by conquering other areas and that he managed to maintain peace within its boundaries.

3. Qin Shi Huang was one of the most important kings of the Chinese state and he ruled over a unified China. He ruled for 35 years and he was responsible for significant economic and cultural progress experienced by the state all across this time period. Even with this, he also caused much damage throughout China and he is remembered for having been one of the most ruthless Chinese rulers across time. One of the principal reasons for his ruthlessness was the fact that the Chinese state was in a state of turmoil during his leadership and there were many individuals who wanted to see him death. As a consequence, he became paranoid and did not hesitate to murder anyone whom he considered to be suspicious.

The Chinese leader is responsible for reinforcing the Great Wall of China and for supporting intellectual practices throughout the state. He is also remembered for his tomb, which consisted out of an army of 8000 terracotta clay soldiers meant to protect him in the afterlife.
