Technology is crucial in higher education because every aspect in education, technology should be incorporated. Technology enables collaboration between students and even lecturers when they are in different geographical areas. For example, when studying online, students can be given instructions and materials that will enable them to study in their workplaces. In the case of the military, the student can access all the materials and instructions from the lecturer and other students using the technological techniques. he/she does not need to move from workplace to the college to get the materials. Technology has made higher education to be convenient as compared to earlier days where the student was necessary to be in class. In the early days, someone working in different places was difficult for him/her to advance in education. he/she would either decide to resign and continue studying or keep working without advancing in education (Arfield & Wade 2013, p. 104).

Technology has made higher education affordable for many people. Students working and pursuing different courses in higher would not pay higher tuition fees because they are not attending daily classes like the other students. They will not buy textbooks and other materials because the materials they are using are soft copy, and they can be stored in a computer or mobile phone. Those who are working in the military can afford to pay for the required fee in higher education because the only cost they will incur will be a mini laptop or even a phone that can access internet and enough storage space. The other money will be used to pay the instructor and other requirements.

Since the people working in the military are moving from one place to another, technology will help not to carry bigger luggage containing books and other materials. The student will take only a mini laptop, iPad, or any other phone that is portable. The portable materials will enable the student to study in any place that they are working. Even in the bushes or anywhere else, they can access the internet and handle the assignments after which they will submit online to the instructor. Technology has made higher education to be more convenient because the students can study in their homes, travelling, or even resting places. Technology has enabled students to practice individual pacing and sequence. In such a case, students determine the place where they can study peacefully with limited disturbance. For example, in colleges and university students will decide to shades or any other comfortable place in the compound where they can concentrate. In the case of a military student, he/she will choose a silent place in the camp, station or any other place which he access the materials online and study. The student will be in a potion to communicate will friends through chatting on the social sites and exchange some valuable information regarding their studies. By the help of the social sites, the students who are working in the military or any other profession can also communicate with the lecturer and ask questions concerning difficulties they face during their private studies (Arfield & Wade 2013, p. 93).

Technology is an advantage to students who are taking different courses in higher education. Technology enables the students to access the internet where they can have any resources that will enable them to prepare for their online examinations and testing. It is advantageous to the military students because he/she will conduct an extensive research on the internet at any place using the portable devices like laptops, tablets, iPads, and other phones. After being given the outline by the lecturer or professor, the student will utilize internet resources to gather for other information. At the higher education levels, the students are required to present projects, research proposal, and thesis as a requirement to complete their studies. The students will require the internet to conduct extensive researches on the projects, thesis, and proposals. All these are only possible by applying technological skills.

Technology allows the students to pursue different degrees at the same time. The student will organize how to spend time on a different course that he/she is pursuing. It will be easier as all the needed materials can be accessed online without any difficulty. Even the students working in different occupations like the military can undertake different courses at the same time to boost their career. The only task for them is to assign each of the courses enough time to gather the required areas. Many institutions have incorporated technology in the course they offer which enables them to offer distance learning to students who do not have time to attend classes. It is advantageous to the students who are working in the military. It is because sometimes they are the bush or desert places where they cannot access any institution to advance their careers.
