I value the importance of using scholarly resources over popular sources for many reasons but mainly because scholarly resources undergo a rigorous process of peer review before they are published (Ali & Watson, 2016). This means that other experts in the field scrutinize and validate the contents of the articles, ensuring that the research is reliable, accurate, and contributes to existing knowledge in the field. On the other hand, popular sources, while often accessible and engaging, do not typically go through this rigorous vetting process, which can lead to issues with reliability and accuracy.

My chosen educational topic is the effects of teacher diversity on student outcomes. This is a significant and relevant issue in education today, as we strive to create inclusive and equitable learning environments that reflect the diversity of our students (Gretter et al., 2019). I am particularly interested in understanding how having a diverse teaching staff can influence students\\\\\\\' academic performance, social development, and perceptions of their learning environment.

In order to delve deeper into this topic, I plan to conduct a thorough search for both scholarly and popular resources. For scholarly resources, I will search academic databases like JSTOR, ERIC, and Google Scholar and include both qualitative and quantitative research.

In terms of popular resources, I will look for newspaper articles, blog posts, and magazines such as Education Week or The Atlantic. These can provide current and practical insights into the topic from the perspective of teachers, students, and policy makers.
