Improving Outcomes Through Effective Research
In order to write an effective research paper, one must perform complete, accurate and concise research. Without these main criteria, a reader will come any from a paper either uninformed or misinformed. A reader seeks to learn more about a subject through another's hard work in compiling the necessary information to explain a topic and support its arguments and theories.
As mentioned earlier, complete and accurate research is essential to a research paper. One cannot use sources that are out of date or have been disproved by someone else. These will only confuse and mislead the reader, especially if they want to learn more about a particular subject on their own. It is always good to check one's sources and have each source support the other. In addition to that, using more than one source is extremely helpful to the reader. This will give the reader different options in pursuing the topic and help the writer to develop a well rounded argument. One cannot make a good argument without some good sources to back it up.
Concise research also goes hand in hand with the aforementioned criteria. While it is beneficial to have numerous sources, too many will burden the reader. It is always smart to pick the most important and relevant sources to cite within a paper. A good, concise bibliography is always helpful to reader. They may want to read more of what a particular author the writer has cited has to say on a subject. One wants to give the reader a good foundation in the topic that he/she is reading about.
In the end, solid, support research is what makes or breaks a paper. One may have a good, logical argument, but without the necessary supporting information, a reader may not understand where it came from. By providing good research, a writer can assist in the learning process.
This method is congruent with Fraenkel and Wallen (2001) who note, "Researchers usually dig into the literature to find out what has already been written about the topic they are interested in investigating. Both the opinions of experts in the field and other research studies are of interest. Such reading is referred to as a review of the literature" (p. 48). A critical review of the literature can also
The Use of Biomedical Devices to Improve Patient Outcomes Abstract There have been tremendous advancements that have been made in the field of biomedical devices. All the advancements have been aimed at improving patient outcomes and preventing infections especially in orthopedic surgeries. Biomedical devices have offered an opportunity to doctors and researchers to improve upon their products with an aim of improving the patient’s quality of life. Infection reduction and readmission rates
Nursing Handoff Communication Research Nursing handoffs are important components in the modern health care setting given their role in transfer of the responsibility and authority of care from one practitioner to another during shifts. Generally, nurses work in different shifts when providing patient care in order to reduce their work burdens and potential stressful moments. Therefore, nursing handoffs help ensure continuity of care during a patient's stay in the health care
Communications as a Supervisor There have been many trends within the healthcare industry that have worked to both improve the ability to communicate as well hinder it in some regards. Despite many pressures to cut costs related to healthcare supervisors, or middle-managers, this role within the organization remains as important as ever. Supervisors are often expected to complete more in their daily roles with less resources at their disposal than
But high schools have been reporting rising grade point averages. Regardless of whether grade inflation is to blame, or an ineffectuality on the part of standardized testing to adequately measure student achievement, this points to another difficulty of using either higher grades or higher test scores to measure student success and thus take into consideration 'teacher quality' and variables that play into assessing teacher quality when hiring new staff
Data Collection in Leadership As a social science, leadership research may involve any type of quantitative or qualitative data collection method. Qualitative research data collection methods include observation, participant-observation, interview, and document or content analysis (“Data Collection Methods,” n.d.). Quantitative data collection methods used in leadership research may include surveys and experiments, which allow for statistical analysis, the establishment of causality between independent and dependent variables, and the tracking of results
