Brief Summary of Experience taking Assessment, Noting Anyone Else Involved and What Was Done, with Attachment of Assessment Instrument

The completed Assessment Instrument is attached as Appendix a. Experience shows that definitions of terms depend on the business discipline of the speaker. Consequently, in order to adequately complete the assessment based on Wu's article (Wu, 2005), it was taken with Wu's article opened in another window for repeated reference to his definitions of such terms as "Knowledgeable," "Experienced," etc. First completing the assessment alone, the categories were addressed exactly as they flowed through the article, and the "Self-Assessment" and "Importance" columns were completed. Both the Self-Assessment and Importance columns were then reviewed, along with the article, for possible changes. After completion, a coworker whose opinion is highly valued was asked to read Wu's article and the "2nd View" column was completed as we discussed the terminology of each area and my abilities in each area. Based on the discussion, the area of "Ability to recognize what you don't know and figure out how to get it" was increased from 7 to 8; however, all other areas received identical scoring. This "2nd View" is reliable, as the coworker knows me well and is experienced in working with me. Consequently, after completing the "Self-Assessment" column, discussing the article and assessment with the coworker and completing the "2nd View," this completed Assessment Instrument is accurate.
