"I know most of you have heard of the term going green has been the new buzz word in lifestyle, business, politics and literally every aspect in the world today. But have you asked yourself what green actually means?

Green is basically an ideology which aims at creating an ecologically sustainable society; one that has deep roots in environmentalism or has inclination towards environmental conservation and improvement hence as many people as possible should urgently embrace green revolution since it does not necessary mean that one should change their life.

When we talk of going green we should have an idea of how this is achieved. There are various things that people are doing to make the world go green. Some of these things are recycling, reusing and reducing .in a consumerist society it is difficult for a day to go buy without one purchasing a thing. Going green requires that before you buy something you should ensure that we chose things that will last long and those that can serve more than one purpose.in attempts of going green people are avoiding to buy items that are disposable in every way possible. Before people throw away things they make sure that they find creative ways that are in existence for re-using these things. Reducing global warming is another initiative in the going green campaign this is being achieved through reducing the dependence of fossil fuels. People are now inclined towards the use of other renewable sources of energy which are also clean.an easy way for everyone to take part in the going green campaign is saving water which can be achieved through taking shorter showers which brings down the water and electricity bills. Electronics today are not being trashed people are keeping their mobile phones, computers and other electronics for as long as they can .electronics have a mercury content together with other toxins which have been a great problem to the environment. These electronics are now being donated or recycled in order to avoid the E-waste that comes with their disposal.it is not only individual people who have embraced the going green campaign. Companies have also joined in this initiative. Companies have now realized that going green is good for their business. Embracing this concept is good for their public relations and at the same time leads to efficient operations .there is the presence of green companies online which shows the effort to educate consumers and give a call for action towards this campaign.

Another question that arises is why everyone wants s to go green? Ever wondered why there has ben a lot of emphasis on green technology? Going green has numerous benefits one of them is saving the earth. This is the biggest benefit of going green; these collective actions are what will save the planet. Another benefit of going green is saving your health. Common household cleaning supplies and pesticides have numerous dangers that people are unaware of. They have a cumulative effect on our bodies. When we switch to cleaning supplies that are greener and eat organic foods then we are taking a huge step towards impacting our health positively .going green also save on money. This ranges from saving money on the energy cost in our houses to easy ways such as increasing the gas mileage in our cars (Green Technology, 2010). There are numerous ways of saving money while going green and after all who does not want to save money.
