Introduction Conclusion -- Child pornography on the Internet must be curbed through overall vigilance and increased law enforcement against offending Internet pornographers. B. Background Information (can include definitions, history, extent of problem, who is affected). The definition of child pornography -- according to JoLynn Plato (1999), " .. child pornography consists of photographs, videotapes, magazines, books, and films that depict children in sex acts, all of which are illegal.

These laws also include some child nudity, simulated sex involving children and material that is computer-doctored to look like child porn.. The very existence of child porn is considered 'contraband,' or illegal because the very act of photographing a child in any sexual context is abusive." 2. The Internet pornography industry makes it easier to traffic or otherwise engage in child pornography. 3. Steps must be taken to curb Internet pornography as it relates to the exploitation of children. II.

Body (At least three key reasons that support the conclusion with subtopics) A. Reason #1: 1. The Internet Pornography industry allows sexual predators and child pornography consumers to violate the law in virtual anonymity. 2. The overall atmosphere of exploitation on Internet porn sites exacerbates the problem by implying acceptability of exploitive behavior. 3. The Internet Pornography industry fuels psychological and/or criminal tendencies in pedophiles. B. Reason #2: 1.

The only way to decrease the draw of Internet Pornography in general, and Internet child pornography in specific is to take steps to erase the benefit of consumer anonymity. 2. It cannot be said that "general Internet pornography" is unconnected with Child pornography in that most sites either allude to the fantasies of pedophiles, or actively cater to them (via "barely 18 type models, etc.) 3.

The Internet pornography industry, itself, should not only be responsible for not engaging in such practices, but they should also be responsible for reporting any offences in the area. C. Reason #3 1. Certain activities on Internet pornography sites as they are today contribute to the problem of child pornography. This must not be tolerated, even if it is "implied" but not actual child pornography. 2. By allowing implied or fantasy child pornography, the pedophile becomes comfortable in his depravity. Further, psychologically he also becomes more driven to offend. 3.

Internet pornography sites must be monitored.
