IT Scenario
A recent study determined that "dealing effectively with information and communication technology in the information society is a complex task and the human dimension is often under-estimated" (Broos, Cronje, 2009, p. 286). If what the study determined to be true, is true, then an out-of-date Central Administrative site for a large organization could lead to serious rifts in communications, and therefore lead to even larger, and more serious problems for the organization overall. It is important to understand that information technology can be a leading component in the search for a process that leads to successful business implementation. One methodology that can be used to successfully integrate information technology into the business process is called 'organization and method' (O & M). A recent report describes O & M. As "an intellectual discipline studied and promoted in Britain in the middle years of the twentieth century as a way of improving the efficiency of...
322). According to the same study, organization and method; "stressed designing and implementing systems that used every element of office operations in the most efficient manner" (Wilson, p. 322).
If the scenario facing the student is one that includes outdated hardware and software, then the approach used by the student should include upgrading all the office operations in the most effective way. Using the O & M. approach would allow the student the opportunity to evaluate the needs of the business, determine the goals and objectives, and construct a plan for reaching them. This type of evaluation is made much more difficult by the fact that the involved IT organization has 40 remote sites. It is highly likely that each site has similarities with the other sites, but each site would also have specific needs according to the local circumstances.
Efficiently managing the different sites will necessarily include a strong central message…
equal amount of studies are conducted using qualitative methodologies. Each of the approaches has its own advantages and disadvantages. Quantitative research involves a numerical approach with quantitative data abounding. Qualitative research involves an approach that calls for a more thought or ideal process focusing on the participant's perceptions, ideals and feelings. Phenomenology certainly falls into the qualitative approach to research. As one recent study determined "phenomenology is a qualitative method
Intelligence One recent study defined purpose as "an extraordinary achievement" (Moran, 2009, p. 143), yet the there are many individuals in the world who believe that the purpose of intelligence is to prevent surprise. Contemplating the contradiction, the question that could be asked is "how then does an extraordinary achievement translate into everyday intelligence?" This author believes that the purpose of intelligence is not to prevent surprise, instead that the purpose
Factorial Design This study seeks to answer the question of what individual treatment modes have been found to be the effective for treating this population as stated by the study. Complementing that question is the fact that the study is also attempting to determine whether certain treatments are more effective than other treatments for adolescent boys between the ages of 14 -- 16 who have been diagnosed with conduct disorder. Nursing Case Study Managing a possible Case of Gastroenteritis: A Nursing Case Study The effective delivery of optimal nursing care requires a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses both the patient's symptoms and the security of the immediate environment. This report presents a case study of appropriate evidence-based nursing practices in treating an elderly female patient presenting with abdominal discomfort in a residential care setting. The client presents with new onset faecal incontinence, diarrhoea
A study published in 2007 suggested that "The ASCA National Model can help school counselors think proactively about how they can best serve the students in their schools, and it contains ideas and tools for developing comprehensive school counseling programs that use the current best practices in the field" (Dimmit, Carey, 2007, p. 227).This study will attempt to discern whether those standards have been met. If they have not, then
Nuclear Medicine The recent nuclear crisis suffered by Japan seems to justify the fear-mongering much of the mainstream media engages in regarding the use of nuclear energy. Yet, many experts know that "nuclear imaging is used on tens of thousands of patients every day to take pictures of their hearts, lungs, kidneys, bones, brains and other organs" (Walters, 2009, p. 33) with very little adverse reactions to the procedure(s). Oftentimes the
