Having a collaborative network is highly important to the IT process. In order to have good collaboration, companies have appeared online to provide sites where professionals can gather. One such site is ITtoolbox. This site is structured clearly and avoids much of the confusion that might otherwise be seen on a site that provides so much information. The target audience is IT professionals, but there is enough plain-language information on the site that it can be used by those who are relatively new to information technology as well. That makes it a great learning tool as well as a good way to collaborate. What better way to learn than to have access to professionals who can help guide one along the path to knowledge?

By having a way to interact with others, it is also much easier to get clarification for anything one might not understand.

The depth of community content will be highly valuable to anyone in the IT field - but the sheer volume of information available means one will have to spend considerable time with ITtoolbox to find everything that might be helpful or that might provide insight. That can be valuable for career contacts and also simply for networking and asking questions. If someone who is focused on a career in IT is able to build contacts while still getting an education, the career prospects are better when that person graduates and actually starts looking for employment. With the downturn in the economy, even IT professionals need all of the help them can get to find good job leads and get hired on at a company that they like and that treats them well. Because ITtoolbox has such a large community, the site can provide help in almost any aspect of IT one might want to consider (ITtoolbox, 2011).
