Kennedy Assassination

The entire Kennedy investigation case is highly unusual at best, and is more likely one that simply reeks of impropriety. There are a number of highly salient aspects about this case that make it readily apparent that certain parties were interested in making sure that it was never solved. One of the foremost of these facets was the fact that the forensics work conducted on the bullet fragments occurred 14 years after the fatal shooting of Jack Kennedy, who was gunned down in front of his wife (Clarke, 2013). A 14-year lapse in an investigation, even if it involves forensic work, is far from an earnest attempt to truly gauge the facts of what happened, why, and how.

As far as specific elements of the case that were mishandled as denoted within the textbook, the details of the autopsy are probably the most significant. What exactly is a "specialist photographer" (cite) and, more importantly, why was he or she denied access to photograph the deceased body of Kennedy -- except to further obfuscate a murder investigation that appeared to never be truly concerned with delineating facts? The textbook states that the specialist photographer was denied access in the interest of security. That certainly is a peculiar term which leaves the prudent reader wondering just whose security was actually at stake? That of the dead man? Or, more than likely, that of the millions of living Americans who might come to understand that their country, and their own lives, was not as secure as they thought -- since the powers that be were attempting to suppress evidence in this high-profile case.

It is also quite significant to note that all of the autopsy photographs that were made available of the president's body were taken by the same governmental agency that was allegedly protecting the security of a dead man and some interest that has never been explicitly stated. The job that was done was less than unprofessional -- it was downright shoddy. There is simply no point to conducting a series of autopsy photographs if there is no identifiable entry and exit point for the fatal wounds -- yet this was done in the case of Kennedy's autopsy. Similarly, the dearth of internal organs being visible in the pictures, and the lack of scale to determine the size of the wounds simply reeks of a cover-up. All of these points are definitely cause for alarm that the autopsy photos were egregiously mishandled.

Additionally, it is highly curious that of the bullet fragments examined 14 years after the president's murder, there were only two found that "differed slightly in their composition" (cite). What exactly does that mean, and how common is it for bullets fired in the same gun to be made up of different composition? Furthermore, if the bullets did have different compositions, how can "experts" (cite) be so certain that the came from the same gun?
