Labor Elections

America is a competitive place and many of the economic and social systems in place reflect this quality. Economically, capitalism and all of its market specific rules apply to the many working people in this nation as well. The purpose of this essay is to describe how labor unions are affecting these economic processes and how they can contribute to the greater conversation revolving around the economy and employment issues. This essay will describe a union election from the standpoint of a campaign manager of union candidate to express my personal feelings and strengths towards this analysis. The second part of this essay will address the GMFC case study and explain my actions with a philosophy on employee relations.

Corporations appear to have much of the political power in the country today as far as labor realations are concerned. Labor unions are dwindling in power every year as it appears that non-union organizations are gaining a distinct advantage over their unionized competitors. For this reason, I would like to act as a campaign manager for a union candidate in order to reclaim some sort of personal power over the situation.

Americans are becoming poorer, dumber and more violent as the 21st century begins to unfold in a slightly dystrophic environment where pure power is the only realistic goal for most people. If this is the game that must be played, I choose to play it as someone who can undermine the system in its totality. Unions are corrupt just like many of the organizations they supply their labor to and the game being played is "get away with what you can get away with." As a campaign manager I would appreciate the opportunity to play this game and attempt to seek retribution to the bullying corporations that seem to have taken over the economic landscape of this nation.

As a campaign manager I would avoid using violence measures to win the election but other deceitful actions are not off the table. Union battles of the past have proven that they are not fought fairly and cheating is most likely necessary in order to make success happen. Since each group of competitors in this game are acting in a very self-interested manner, this approach is justified in my opinion.

The GMFC cases study echoes many of the points previously mentioned about self-serving behavior and questionable tactics. This is capitalism and inherent within this understanding is the laissez faire attitude of conquer or become conquered. Neumeier, cannot be trusted in this situation and any attempts to unsettle his argument should be made to suggest that he is incompetent and ignorant in labor union relation matters.
