Over the last several years, Facebook has become one way that people with similar interests are able to connect with each others from around the world. This is because the site is based off of two different concepts: social networking and social browsing. Social networking is when you are connecting with different friends that you meet in: real life or online. As people will, chat and discuss similar interests that they have, in a circle of associates called Facebook Friends. The idea is to take the concept of: socialization and make it even more personal. Social browsing is when you are on Facebook and are searching for new friends / groups to associate with. These different elements are important, because they are showing how Facebook has been able to transform the way that people interact with each other on a daily basis. However, the tremendous amounts of the success that the company has had, means that they could become the victim of their own success. As changes in technology, could make the social networking site a relic of the past, unless it keeps up these changes that are taking place. A good example of this can be seen with My Space. They were one of the first social networking sites to emerge and had a large market following in 2006 among: young adults as well as teenagers.
