¶ … Christian worldview to integrate beliefs, values, ethics and service in personal and professional life.

The ways things are perceived is a product of our personal worldviews. All our values and ethics are all products of this worldview. These things we hold dear to our heart influence our behavior and our behavior reflect on our general ways of dealing with people from within and outside our world. On a general perspective, ethics refer to a set of principles that are products of morals which dictate the decisions of a person or group of person. Religious beliefs and values are always a part of everyone's outlook (Fox, 1990). These values cannot be separated from ones life when professionalism is concerned. These, I have come across in my professional life. There have been cases when a certain prescription that is supposed to alleviate the ill-health of one of my patients was rebuffed with fisticuffs. Although astonished as I was, I took time to find out from the patient the reason for such action. I was bamboozled to find out that her action was a product of her values and this really impacted on her general belief.

The acquired knowledge from the medical school has really prepared me beforehand on the utilization of critical thinking in clinical issues; on how to communicate with the patients as; this is the hallmark of treatment procedure. Before any manner of treatment could be effected, there must be communication between the nurse and the patients and this, I have utilized in making my patients feel free to make me better understand their conditions. My high level of communication enables me to assess their health status and the application of my technical skill in accurately diagnosing their ailments. This further makes it possible to treat the patients accordingly. While dispensing medication on the patients, my religiously trained mind assesses the acceptable form of treatment by the patient in consonance with scientific training I acquired in the nursing school.

Having being trained thoroughly in nursing school has afforded me the required knowledge to know that the patients' concern is paramount in the filed of medicine.
