Statistics of the Labor Market (Miami: 2013 to 2015) There are three metropolitan Divisions in Miami. These are identified separately as centers of employment in the larger Metropolitan area. The three areas added 61000 positions in the labor market. The situation was much better in 2014 because the three areas added 83000 jobs to the labor market. The market gained up to 38000 jobs from Miami-Miami Beach -- Kendall, while Beach-Deerfield Beach division added 2600 new jobs to the labor basket. Raton-Delray beach division in West Palm Beach-Boca came on with 19000 jobs.

Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall; which is the largest of the labor divisions constitutes 45% of all employment in the area. The region added 21000 new jobs from last September. The Beach Deerfield division at Fort Lauderdale Pompano produced 22-800 positions. This was 32% of the total positions. Boca-Raton-Delray beach division in West Palm produced over 23% of all the work positions. The actual numbers were 11800 new positions in the whole of 2015 (BLS.gov, 2015). The total number of employed people in Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach in the Florida Statistical location totaled over 2.69 million individuals in 2013.

2.43 million in 2014, the figure went up to 2.5 million in the year 2015. Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Deerfield Beach, FL Metropolitan Division had 1.2 million employees in 2013. The figure plunged to 1.1 million in 2014, and came down to 1.1 million in 2015. The total workforce in Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Deerfield Beach, FL Metropolitan Division had a combined labor force of 888,666 in the year 2013 and 776800 in the year 2015. On the other hand, West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach, FL Metropolitan Division had a total force of 613,597 in 2013. It had 560400 in 2014 and 572200 workers in 2015 (BLS.gov, 2015) (Marketinfo, 2013).

Miami had unemployment rate of 234,826 in 2013. Florida: 2013-2016 Florida had a total labor force of 9396 461 million. 8,616,951 million people were in employment. The number of unemployed people stood at 8, 616,951 million. Unemployment percentage hit 8.3%. The total labor force rose to 9.6 in 2014. There were 556200 unemployed people in the same year. The unemployment rate was 5.8% and there were 9.7 million people who were employed in 2015. The unemployed people totaled 493000 as the unemployment rate stood at 5.1%. (BLS.gov, 2016). US 2013-2015 The U.S. had a total workforce standing at 155,389,000 in 2013. 143,929,000 million were in employment.

There were another 11460 people without employment. Unemployment rate stood at 7.4. The figures were a little dented in 2014 with 139919 million in employment. 2015 was more optimistic with 142627 million employed people. The Labor Situation in Your Area There were 12 labor areas that were cited as the largest in September of 2015. Miami was one of them. All the 12 largest areas had significant one year growth in employment rates; 6 of the areas exceeded the national average that stood at 1.9%. Business services and professional super-sector recorded the highest employment rise by 4.8% since September last year.

The three Metropolitan areas increased employment opportunities in the super-sector in the one year period. The figures for nationwide employment gains stood at 3.1% over a one year period. Hospitality and leisure sectors recorded the second largest growth. They grew by 11700 by September 2015. The growth of jobs in the super sector were largely picking in the Miami Metropolitan region. The hospitality and leisure sectors grew by 2.9% over the period. The Metropolitan area gained 800 jobs.
