The current study was designed to look at a brief treatment for PTSD in children following a natural disaster. The participants were children from the aforementioned study who still met PTSD criteria (the natural disaster was a hurricane in Hawaii that occurred a year prior). The treatment used was Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a brief treatment method that incorporates CBT and elements of psychodynamic therapy. There were 32 children that completed the study. The Child Reaction Index (CRI), Revised Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS), Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), and child ratings of helpfulness worried the outcome measures.
