Microsoft has been among the companies that made the computer a successful tool to almost all tasks that man needs to accomplish these days. Among the long list of software products that are foremost to man's use of computer is the Microsoft Office. The Microsoft Office caused great impact in the way paper works are done these days. In that, it made writing documents far better, quicker, and more presentable and more fit for one to say "this is what a document is!." This thus made the Microsoft Office the most common software worldwide. To date, Microsoft continuously improves the product -- from the basic feature of typing documents and storing them into files, into applying new features that can makes document writing engaging and that can turn documents into "real presentations."

Inputs and Outputs

MS Word is generally used for writing text documents, Excel is used for documents that require tabular/columnar data (spreadsheets) as well as computed data, Powerpoint is used for presentations, and Access is for database. These types of input correspond to the type of output produced by each software in the Microsoft Office package

Organization Usage and IS Organizational Impact

The Microsoft Office is a "can't live without" software in every organization. When one speaks of writing/creating a document, the Microsoft Office is the "right away" tool. Hence, it is an "all-time" software in every organization.

The impact of the Microsoft Office to information system is very significant. Without the Microsoft Office, the creation of information sources, such as documents and reports, will not be as efficient as it is these days. Imagine the task of writing documents and reports without the ease of "type and save" that the Microsoft Office provides. Also, imagine how quick and presentable it will be if one is just using a Notepad or a Wordpad to write a document?

Hardware and Software

The Microsoft Office is compatible to any hardware commonly used by computers. In terms of software, it is compatible with any Windows Operating System.
