Management My Product Is a Creative, Critical

Management

My product is a creative, critical individual with a strong educational background and a hard work ethic. There are a lot of people who have one or two of these traits, but I feel that my combination of these traits is something that sets me apart. If I am a product, then I am a premium product. My price and positioning will probably reflect that. There are still better products on the market, of that I don't doubt, but I have many different traits, each one of which would be attractive to an employer, and when combined these can be exceptionally powerful.

Selling the product is an important issue. As with any product, the key is to try to sell the product where it will fetch the highest price and have the highest demand. In this instance, there is only one unit, so we are not doing volume sales. We are simply trying to get the highest price for a one-of-a-kind product. To know where to sell the product, we need a target market. In this case, financial firms are a good bet for the target market, because of my training expertise, because there is good match between my skills and between the skills needed to succeed in that industry. Furthermore, one of the key characteristics of the ideal target market is the ability to pay. While my skills would surely be valuable to running a 7-Eleven, a place like that does not have the ability to pay the highest price. Therefore, it only makes sense to compile a list of financial firms as my primary target market.

There are many ways to reach this target market. The hidden job market is probably the best, so networking and seeking to reach key decision makers and influencers is important. However, such firms also participate in the visible job market, something that provides opportunity. Online is almost always the best place to start when one is essentially cold-calling a company.

There are a number of potential buyers to the product, and they can be found through the channels described above, both the hidden job market and the visible job market. The buyers range from the wealthy banks who can pay a lot of money if they are convinced to buy, to small companies that know they would benefit but cannot afford to pay. The price compares to similar products, however. The job marketplace has a high level of competition. For people with few skills, they end up being price takers, but people who have successfully differentiated themselves can become price setters in the marketplace. No matter what one's position in the market, they should be well aware of what the market for their services is worth. I have a good sense of what people with y skills and experience get paid, and those are the wages I intend to pursue. The price will be in line with similar products, and I will try to differentiate further from there in order to become the candidate of choice.
