This statistical analysis examines mental health access disparities within African American communities through three key demographic factors. Using independent t-tests and chi-square analysis of 295 participants, the study reveals significant age-related differences in mental health service utilization, with older adults (mean age 63.51) less likely to seek care than younger individuals (mean age 52.77). The research demonstrates strong correlations between economic status and mental health access, finding that lower-income individuals face substantial barriers to care, while higher education levels significantly improve both attitudes toward and accessibility of mental health services.
RQ#1: Is there a difference in attitudes regarding mental health utilization in African Americans based on age?
The attitudes towards mental health among the young people is getting worse. Most young people have no concern on their mental health. An independent t test can be conducted on the data collected to determine if there is significant difference in age with regard to mental health.

The output above affirms that there is a significant difference in the mean age with regard to attitudes regarding mental health utilization among African-Americans. In general, most Americans do not seek mental heath care. This can either be attributed to the ever-rising cost of healthcare or lack of trust in the facilities available.
RQ#2: Is there a relationship between attitudes toward mental health and mental health access in African Americans based on economic levels?
To determine whether there is a significant difference between attitudes toward mental health and mental health access in African Americans based on economic levels a chi square test statistics can be used. The output from the test is shown below.

Based on the output above, the chi square test is significant. This means that there is a significant relationship between attitudes toward mental health and mental health access in African Americans based on economic levels. Lower income earners may tend not to seek mental care since it is expensive.
