One of these qualities is communication skills; am sure we have heard of the saying that the best way of wining a fight is avoiding the fight. This is quite applicable when it comes to law enforcement management in that effective communication is the number one asset when it comes to dealing with anyone (CareerProfile.info, 2014). This means that if the management finds a way of communication well with the staff then there would not be nay problem arising between the management and the staff.
Therefore effective communication skills lead to the optimization of the staff performance. Another quality is believing in the ability of subordinates or the people one is put in charge of. This implies that the law enforcement management has a lot of belief in the members of the staff and trusts their judgment in the course of duty (Gonzalez, 2007).
This will give the staff motivation in that they know the management believes in them hence they will perform to the best of their abilities so that they can live up to the expectations and confidence the management has on them. Therefore they will not work effectively since they will have the feeling that they are always being watched. This quality is thus very important in optimizing the performance of the staff. Such a management is able to create excitement and pride in a genuine way when the staff accomplishes an objective .apart from motivation, the management can also make references to the welfare and care of the members of staff.
