Instructions for Applying for Admission into Online Courses at the Saint Xavier University
I recently got accepted into the online graduate program at Saint Xavier University. So far, I find the program convenient not only because it allows me to learn at my own pace, but also because it presents better opportunities to balance between work and school. Question Two
Date: April 2, 2015
To: Members of the School Swimming Team
From: XXX (Team Coach)
Subject: Instructions on how to do an effective side-to-side warm-up before workout
Warming up is an important part of work-out exercises. The risk of injury is reduced significantly if warm-ups are done effectively because the muscles become more efficient and the body better prepared to perform major training exercises (Hoffman, 2002). I noticed at training the other day that most members of the team are not able to do an effective warm-up exercise. This memo summarizes the steps for executing a good side-by-side.
Follow this step-by-step process to execute a good side-by-side move
1. Separate your legs
2. Place your hands over your head with palms facing up and fingers pointed inwards
3. Look up
Result: you are standing looking up, slightly leaned back with the chest open
4. Take a deep breath
5. Slowly twist to the left until the shoulders are completely turned in that direction
6. Bend slowly on your side towards the floor as you exhale (be sure to make your stretch as comfortable as possible to prepare the muscles)
7. Come up slowly, inhaling
8. Repeat the process, this time taking a turn to the right
One right stretch and one left stretch amount to one repetition. A complete side-by-side exercise consists of eight properly-executed repetitions.
If you are having problems performing a good side-by-side, feel free to contact the coach or any other member of the team that you deem helpful
