There need to be compelling articles posted on the website that offer benefit-driven content to customers about the best brewing techniques, the history of coffee, or even recipes for some of the baked goods that are sold in the store. The online end of the business needs to be a financial, educational and social hub for customers to gravitate to even when they're not in the store. This would be a solid means of attracting more customers and increasing sales. Thus, one the e-business site, one would want to track metrics which would display which articles got the most views, which merchandise items got clicked on the most often, and which brands of coffee were most popular. This would help the company better understand where they customers were gravitating and what their customers found most compelling. An e-business strategy could no doubt help the company partner with suppliers in that the online presence of the company could help create a strong sense of cross-promotion. This would give the suppliers the attention and the advertising that they deserve, and it would help foster an atmosphere of stronger disclosure so that all the customers are able to see that only the best supplies go into the business.

This would allow the employees a greater level of flexibility with their own needs within this company. Kiosks could be used in the cafe potentially as a means for placing orders or for purchasing merchandise. However, for the most part, kiosks won't be necessary in the store. In the store it will be important to have the most human to human interaction as possible, so that all clients feel as though they're receiving a more personal touch.
More than anything the e-business platform needs to empower the company to get to know their customers better and to get to know their needs and desires with a greater level of accuracy and understanding. The e-commerce end of the business needs to help the company forge stronger bonds with their client base and to allow them to work on making that base as loyal as possible: by pleasing them and rewarding them for their loyalty. In fact the e-commerce end of the business can even organize in-store events like coffee-tastings and cooking/baking sessions as a means of community building and client building.
