Netbooks Comparison and Recommendation

The scenario in this work is that the writer works as sales manager for a large pharmaceutical company and the sales reps are required to travel four of five days per week to meet with doctors, hospitals and research teams. The salespeople have been using laptops with broadband access cards. The boss has requested research on whether supplying the reps with netbooks rather than laptops would be a worthwhile option. Three netbooks will be research and a table analyzing the answer to the questions of (1) cost; (2) features; and (3) optional components will be addressed and placed onto a table. Based on the information a recommendation will be made on one of the netbooks accompanied by the reason for this choice.

The three netbooks compared in this study include the Asus Eee PC 1025C, the HP Pavilion dm1-3410nr, and the Acer Aspire One A0756-2626. The netbooks, their features and the cost for purchasing the netbooks are all listed in the following table labeled Figure 1.

A comparison of the three netbooks reveals that the Acer Aspire has a powerful processor and a large hard-drive with plenty of RAM. This netbook is heavier than some netbooks and is found to have a short battery life. The HP Pavilion has HD display and beat audio and is found to be larger than most netbooks. This netbook has performance that is solid and is reported as "super portable." (Top Ten Review, 2013, p.1) The Asus Eee PC has a small form-factor is lightweight and has long battery life although this netbook is reported to have a smaller keyboard than some netbooks.
