Training needs assessment delves in data gathering processes to determine the existing training requirements. The process focuses on developing training to facilitate accomplishment of objectives by the organization. The achievement of stated goals and objectives of the organization depend on needs assessment initiatives (Songhori, 2007). In this paper, we delve in the needs assessment of the new-hire orientation process basing on my current attached organization, a home health agency located in La Mesa, CA. The target group of the project touches on clinical staff including social workers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, just to mention a number.

A successful needs assessment has essential points and components that must be considered. For this study, the data points include the need to increase productivity, improve efficiency, and enhance quality care. Ideally, Increasing productivity in the health care agency plays a crucial role in maintaining quality standards for the organization. Improving efficiency delves in ways of eliminating any derailing factors in healthcare processes, both administratively and educationally. Enhancing quality care engages various ways of raising the desirable healthcare quality standards for the organization. These data points occur as crucial elements essential to undertaking the needs assessment in the organization.
Rationale for selecting the topic
This topic has been selected because it focuses on acquainting newly hired employees to their work and job environments. Through orientation, new employees have an opportunity to become acclimated to the organization, departments, work colleagues, and expectations from work. The topic delves in enabling employees to understand the culture of the organization, recognition and welcoming to the new organization, and smooth transition to the new workplace.
Goal Statement
An effective employee orientation program delves in enabling new employees have a positive impression of the organization. The New-Hire process in this health agency equips newly hired employees with essential tools to prepare the new employees for success in the organization. Implementation of the processes adds value in terms of increased productivity, improved efficiency, and quality health care.

The process facilitates data collection with consideration of factors that include turnover rates, lost workdays, safety incidences, and customer complaints, among other issues. Such data play a crucial role in enabling indication of performance improvement areas (Iqbal and Ahmad 2011).

Understanding change in the organization facilitates the identification of skill needs in the organization. The process engages various questions such as; Will technology change? Will cultural changes influence the organization? The questions supplement the assessment methods for the organizational benefit.

The assessment processes facilitate the understanding of the work dynamics such as productivity about the employed staff. For example, with such information, the organization may delve in employing younger staff in preparation of replacing the older staff.
Summary of the Process of developing a needs management
The process engaged in conducting a needs assessment involves various crucial steps. First, it is essential to clarify the sole purpose and drafting of a plan to carry out the needs assessment. Information fetched in this first step includes the employee, business/organization needs, organizational culture, and baseline information from the organization. Identification of the target group occurs as the second step in the process. The step takes into consideration employees under the survey category relating to their programs and activities (Barbazette, 2006).
The third step delves in the determination of methods of information collection for the needs management. Various methods employed in the data collection processes include questionnaires, discussion groups, and group sessions, among others. The fourth step targets determination of already existing information useful for the analysis. Already existing information includes communication surveys, comments received in various forums, and team documents.
The fifth step delves in gathering and management of information. The step also engages the determination of the existence of baseline information and the organization of information. The sixth step delves in the analysis of captured information that provides identification of ways to close the gaps and new trends in the market. The last step engages the utilization of the results in the determination of short- and long-term goal plans for the business. Results from the assessment facilitate the development of a recognition work plan (Barbazette, 2006).
