New Honda City There is a new look and feel to urban life in Australia. Simultaneously, there is a new look and feel to the recently released Honda City model made for Australia. The sleek corners, stylish cafes and major metropolitan areas Down Under are ideal for perusing through in the 2014 Honda City, which has a number of specific features for the urban Aussie traveler navigating the increasingly modern and technologically advanced realms of Australian inner city life.
City owners will never have to worry about gas mileage as its 1.5 liter, i-VTEC engine consumes a mere 5.7 liters for every 100 kilometers traveled while pumping out 88 kW of thrust. The engine is sufficiently fortified with two choices of transmission: a five-speed manual for those who prefer the race car driving feel, or Honda's new Continuously Variable Transmission Technology.
The latter eschews the typical gear approach for a revolutionary drive belt and pulley approach that all but reduces shifts in the transmission, enabling more rapid acceleration, better gas mileage, and an overall smoother ride. Even better is the fact that the City was designed with a number of features to specifically accommodate the contemporary urban motorist.
It is more spacious (536 liters) than virtually every other vehicle in its class -- including the Holden Commodore and the Ford Falcon -- and can comfortably fit five due to its 60:40 split fold rear seats. There's an optional Sports Pack for those who want their vehicle to look as sharp as they do, which comes complete with a side skirt kit, rear wing spoiler, a Modulo front and rear under spoiler and a sports grille (the base version comes with a chrome grille).
There are several entertainment and communication enhancements that will make riding the City a pleasure -- even when you're simply exploring, with no particular destination in mind. Occupants can easily access a bevy of information from the Display Audio screen in.
