Upon graduation I will have all of the skills and training needed to be able to provide both clinical education and guidance to the IDG team and nursing staff. I already have experience and certification in palliative care, acute hospital care, hospice care, and home health care so this applies to the need experience as stated in the advertisement. The Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Nursing practice allows the individual to understand and to apply the latest empirically validated findings to the everyday practice of nursing. As the program specifically mentions working with the IDG team upon graduation I will be able to relate to medical doctors, psychiatrists, other health care professionals, and nurses involved in a team at their level. This position obviously values leadership and management skills that require advanced level decision making that only comes with the training from getting an advanced degree. This training will allow me to consult with other doctors at their level, mentor others, provide first-rate care to patients, and to improve the image and reputation of nurses in all areas of this practice. Thus, upon graduation I will be the perfect candidate for this position.
