Personal Assessment The author of this report has been asked to do a review and summary of a personal assessment that was completed. The assessment has three major sections, those including learning style, stress handling and a general assessment of relating to humans. Indeed, the ways in which people develop reactions and behaviors around these things shapes their personality, their experiences and how they move about through life. While there is no single "right way" to answer these questions, the author of this response feels that there are some methods and ways of approaching things that are better than others.

When it comes to learning style, there are two major choices. One choice is to watch and listen and the other is to get involve and participate. As with most things, neither answer could or should be used in all situations. There are times where a concept is new and completely foreign. In that case, watching and listening would probably be the best course. However, if there is something where a cursory amount of knowledge and experience is already present, then there is something to be said for jumping in and participating. Regardless, if it is a real-world situation and competent people are already involved, watching and learning is probably the best way to go. When speaking of a controlled and/or test environment where learning is the main goal and reason for doing things, there is no harm in getting into it and learning the lessons....

When it comes to relying on hunches or going off of logic, the latter should be the norm most of the time. There are situations where a hunch is required because not all of the important and relevant facts are known. For example, one can look at logic and facts when it comes to a criminal investigation but those facts only tell a person so much. For example, footprints that have wide distance between them would indicate a person that is running but it would not explain why the person is running. If there is no witness or other data to explain that, some deduction and presumptions might have to be bandied about. However, logic and rationality should be the usual order of things.
When it comes to the general question, one question that popped out was the one about how perceptions and personality shape reactions and behavior. This is very much true and an inherent problem and challenge with that is that presumptions and assumptions are often somewhat or completely wrong. So much of what we "know" is often just supposition or based on incomplete data. For example, if a person is quiet by nature, it could mean they are shy but that is far from being the only explanation. The other questions in that section were pretty straight-forward and easy to understand in terms of their implications. Finally, there was the stress personality type section. The author does see some negative things. Doing more than one thing at once is sometimes necessary but…

Although interpersonal and group level communications reside at a lower level than organizational communication, they are major forms of communication in organizations and are prominently addressed in the organizational communication literature. Historically, informal communication was primarily seen as a potential block to effective organizational performance. This is no longer
