Personal Have Chosen to Pursue

Personal have chosen to pursue a graduate degree in education administration for many reasons. Looking back on my career, it's apparent that I've been attracted to work requiring the skills conducive to becoming a success in this field. Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and general administration are areas where my passion and enjoyment have brought me great satisfaction. Now, I'm ready to take the next step to advance my skills and make even greater contributions.

Leadership is the key strength that I can contribute to education. In this area, I have a strong record of accomplishments. Recently, I was the Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Baseball Coach as San Jacinto Community College where I participated in all phases of coaching, training, game management and preparation. In the summer of 2004, I was a camp counselor and baseball coach for the Duquette Sports Academy. This position gave me the rewarding opportunity to serve as a role model and mentor for children. Further, I have been a sales manager for seven years, from 1997 to 2004, at Dino's Fine Jewelers. I am presently excited about starting my new position that I will begin in the summer of 2005 as an Assistant Athletic Director the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

My strong interpersonal and communication skills are another motivating factor guiding my career decision. In my present position at Las Vegas National Gulf Course, I communicate extensively with the public and club members to make sure they understand rental and schedule policies as well as to promote club tournaments. I'm also good at communicating with the internal and external stakeholders of an organization. For example, at Sam Jacinto Community College, I was constantly interfacing with the athletic department and ground maintenance. And, as a sales manager, I developed a wide range of communication networks with area businesses and vendors.
