Promoting You as a Brand
Personal branding is one of the most important aspects of business and professional growth and development regardless of whether an individual is self-employed or working for someone else. Effective and accurate branding of oneself is an important for success, especially in today’s competitive world. In light of the insights I have received from this course, I have realized that success is any profession/career is influenced by the development of a compelling personal brand and promoting that brand. Therefore, I seek to develop and promote my compelling personal brand that his based on personal skills, career goals, aspirations, job personality, current career emulation, networking opportunities, and social media presence. These various aspects are crucial towards developing and promoting my personal brand since they show my areas of strength and how I can utilize them to achieve success and growth in my respective profession and/or career.
Personal Skills
My area of expertise is customer relationship management, which is one of the major competencies in the field of advertising and marketing. My academic background has helped me to develop necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities in customer relationship management. As a result, I have the ability to help a business organization develop strategies and practices for creating, maintaining, and managing interactions with its partners, clients, customers, and prospects. In light of my competencies, I can help a business organization to incorporate technological strategies and platforms that focus on obtaining and retaining customers in a mutually beneficial manner. This involves ensuring that the company understands the needs and preferences of customers and utilize them as the premise for developing products and/or services that meet those needs and becoming profitable in the process.
Some of the skills I can offer to a business organization with regards to customer relationship management include good customer service, different kinds of customer relationship management programs, marketing communications, and adoption of a customer service focus across all organizational operations. Additionally, I can offer skills relating to creating a wining customer service strategy and how to utilize the Internet as a platform for developing and maintaining good customer relations.
Even though I have the capability to provide essential skills to a business organization with respect to customer relationship management, I need to improve on certain areas. One of the areas for improvement is marketing communications, which is an essential component in developing and maintaining good customer relations. Moreover, I need to improve on Internet marketing and research, branding, visual communications, and public relations strategies.
Career Goals
My first career goal is to become a customer relation manager in an organization that will utilize my knowledge, skills, and abilities effectively. Through this process, I will contribute to the growth and profitability of the organization by playing a major role in the development and implementation of strategies and practices for obtaining and maintaining customers. As part of this process, I seek to help ensure that the business organization offers the highest level of customer service.
Secondly, I would like to develop experience in the field of interactive marketing to become a leader in the marketing field. I consider the development of experience in this field as a crucial aspect towards achieving my first career goal of becoming a customer relations executive. Experience in this field will enable me to have expertise and ability to handle diverse and emerging issues in today’s marketing field.
Personal Aspirations
One of my personal and professional aspirations in the field of marketing is to be renowned as an excellent customer relations executive or manager. I want to be renowned as a customer relations executive/manager who is creative in developing and maintaining customer relations and responding to changes in the marketing field in an effective and successful way.
Secondly, I want to be renowned as a customer relations manager who helps business organizations to expand and maintain their customer base through designing and implementing appropriate customer relations management (CRM) programs. Third, I want to be renowned as an excellent marketer who help to enhance the efficiency of a business organization with regards to achieving its objectives and improving the bottom line.
The first step towards achieving my career goals and personal aspirations is completing my marketing course and obtaining a degree in this field. Upon obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree, I will enroll for a Master’s Degree program in Strategic Communication, Advertising and Public Relations. The next step in my professional growth and development is to complete a doctorate degree is organization management. This will be followed by seeking for employment opportunities in the marketing department of leading organizations and climb the ladder until I become a customer relations executive. These employment opportunities will contribute to my development as a customer relations manager/executive through providing me practical skills and experience in this field.

One of the insights regarding my current employment as shown in the job personality test results is that my current role is centered on persuading others to do something, believe in my course, or purchase something. In this case, my current employment incorporates roles that involve lobbying, persuading, driving, motivating, and influencing others.
Secondly, the results show that my current employment revolves around working with people while focusing on their personal development and well-being. Third, my current role involves working towards achieving established goals and objectives with and through others. Some of the potential roles in this process include leadership, planning, managing projects, promoting teamwork, and working toward achieving desired results.
Additional insights about my current employment based on the results of this job personality test is that I engage in researching and/or managing information, work creatively with ideas and/or designs, and directly engage with the physical world.
These results show that my current employment role is multifaceted, but is centered on working with people, influencing them, persuading them, and focusing on their personal growth and development. This is a reflection of the multifaceted nature of the role of a customer relations manager and other professionals in the field of marketing. While working with people is at the core of these professions/careers, there are various issues that the individual professional has to handle on a daily basis. Therefore, the individual professional should possess knowledge, skills, and abilities relating to people management and public relations.
Apart from providing significant insights regarding my current employment, the results also provide an indicator of what my career path would look like. In this case, the results demonstrate that my career path may involve working in a leadership position that entails persuading and influencing others toward achieving desired goals and objectives. While my career path will still entail working with people, it will incorporate a leadership position that focuses on persuading other to buy something. These results are consistent with my career goal of becoming a customer relations manager who utilizes his knowledge, skills, and abilities to help organizations develop and maintain good customer relations.

Customer Relations Management has attracted considerable attention in recent decades following rapid globalization and technological advancements that have transformed business operations in today’s society. During this period, several individuals have emerged as renowned customer relations managers/executives across the globe. Some of these individuals include Ted Coine, Gerry Moran, Ray Wang, Flavio Martins, Marsha Collier, and Frank Eliason. Similar to others in this position, famous customer relations managers formulate strategies and techniques for obtaining and retaining customers for their business organizations. These individuals have placed significant emphasis on efficient customer service as the premise for promoting and enhancing the success and profitability of their businesses.
When searching their names or job titles on Google, one of the major skills that emerges is customer service and online presence. These individuals have combined customer service skills with knowledge of the Internet or digital platforms to create CRM programs and practices that help in retaining customers for their businesses. I can accomplish similar achievements through obtaining skills on Information Communications Technology (ICT) because of the role of the Internet in modern communications. The process would entail combining ICT skills with customer service skills to develop and maintain CRM programs and techniques for better marketing communications.

Networking opportunities are essential for finding jobs and promoting an individual’s professional growth and development. Some of the networking opportunities that will help me enhance my professional skills in CRM include conferences and workshops for advertising and marketing communications. These opportunities include the International Marketing Trends Conference, The Customer Experience Conference, The Digital Innovators Summit, and Customer Experience World. These conferences and workshops are suitable networking opportunities since different professionals in marketing and customer relationship management from across the globe gather to share ideas and learn more about the field. These conferences also provide an opportunity to meet different kinds of professionals with varying expertise and experience in this career.
Social Media Presence
In light of the significance of the Internet on modern business communications, social media is essential in customer relationships management. Currently, I have social media accounts on LinkedIn and Facebook. These platforms provide me an opportunity to network with others and learn about emerging trends in the field of customer relationships management. However, I could enhance my social media presence through joining additional platforms like Twitter. This would help me connect with more individuals and/or groups in this career and learn more issues. Twitter has developed to become an important social networking platform for increased connectivity between different people worldwide. Through this platform, I will learn more about available opportunities for professional growth and development in CRM.
