Also, my background will allow for a unique viewpoint, as I was raised in Turkey and am fluent in French and English. My academic successes and leadership roles include serving as president of the honor board in my Turkish high school, while also representing the students on the school's disciplinary committee. After spending eight weeks as an intern for this firm, which is a respected name in the industry, not only had the know-how, but also the tools to continue in the pursuit of my goal -- working in an engineering capacity in the construction field. Serving as a junior architect at the firm, I learned how to use tools of the trade, such as AUTOCAD. More relevant, however, is the fact that I learned how my unique approach -- combining economic, sociological, and engineering principles -- could be realistically applied in the professional environment. After having this experience, I am confident that, after further instruction in construction economics and managements, I will be ready to make a lasting contribution to the construction and engineering industry. Still, my preparation will be incomplete without the opportunity to take part in the construction and economics management program from UCL. With this opportunity, I will be able to combine my theoretical knowledge with real-world experience, making a real contribution to the industries.
