Personalities

Ever wondered why people behave the way they do and why people act in one way while others act in a different way? Well we all know that people are different when it comes to their physical and psychological aspects. In human personality the central dimension is the trait of extraversion and that of introversion. Virtually all the comprehensive models of personality must include these two concepts extraversion and introversion is typically termed as a single continuum. This insinuates that for one to be on the high of one they necessarily have to be low on the other. Therefore one cannot have extremes of both at a go. There is also a different perspective that suggests that each individual has both an extrovert and introvert side with on dominating over the other. Regardless of the there is always a fluctuation in peoples behavior at all times and even extreme extraverts and introverts do not act in accordance to their type. The paper is a comparison and contrast between extraversion and introversion.

Similarities

Extraversion and introversion are similar in that they are both personalities that are expressed in human belongs. They are also similar in that they both can be developed in an individual at one point in their life. These two traits are usually interchanged is one can be an extravert at one point in life and become an introvert at another point of their life because one varies in respect to another .The only thing that changes between these two personalities is the level of energy.

Differences

Extraversion

Extraversion is the state, act or habit of an individual being predominantly concerned with as well as obtaining a huge part of gratification from things that are outside their own self. Extroverts always enjoy interacting with other people, being talkative, enthusiastic, gregarious and assertive. They enjoy in taking part in activities that involve a large gathering of people like community activities, business groups and so on. Extrovert people enjoy time they spend with people and find it less rewarding when they spend time alone .extroverts tend to be assertive, gregarious and always have the interest of seeking excitement in contrast introverts tend to be very reserved, less sociable and less outgoing. They are often full of energy when they are around other people and they find it boring when they are on their own.

Introversion

Introversion is the tendency or state of an individual being concerned with and only interested in their personal mental life. Introverts have often been characterized as people who their energy expands through reflection and go down whenever they are interacting. Introverts tend to be quite reserved and not outspoken when they are in a group. They enjoy solitary activities such as writing, reading, hiking, using computers and fishing. It is assumed that composers, engineers writers, archetypal artists are most likely to be introverts. For introverts they enjoy spending their time alone as opposed to time spend in a group though they often enjoy interactions with friends. They are not loners but have a small circle of friends but they do not thrive in trying to establishing new social contacts. Trust is an issue that is quite significant virtue when introverts choose their friends or worthy companions. Introverts only concentrate on one activity at a time and they keenly observe situations before participating which is a common trend among children and adolescents. Before they speak something they analyze the situation keenly. Introverts are usually overwhelmed very easily by the stimulation that is present in social gatherings. Introversion is not perceived as being same as being shy or being ooutcast. Introverts prefer taking part in solitary activities as opposed to social ones where those who are termed as shy people avoid any form of social encounter because they are afraid.
