Love What Happens

How do I feel about the advice "To love what happens of necessity?"

If we cannot love what happens to us, and accept it, we will never be truly happy or fulfilled. If we are always searching for something more, rather than accepting of what we have, then we will always be looking for more, rather than satisfied and content. However most people do not work that way. I think most people want certain things and are satisfied only if the occurrence is something I need or desire. Thus, I do not love out of necessity, but rather out of want and need, and that may not make me as happy as I could be.

Many people feel that love is also a necessity of life, and I agree with that. Life is more fulfilling and happy when you share it with someone you care about and love, and it adds new meaning to many of life's experiences. If you can give yourself in love to another person, you are more open to all the possibilities and happiness life has to offer, and you may become less selfish and self-adsorbed as well. Then, you can love what happens more out of necessity and less out of want.

To love what happens out of necessity also recognizes there are many things you cannot change, and being unhappy or dissatisfied with them will not make them go away. If you accept them, you can move on in your life to change the things you do have the power to change, such as attitude and acceptance. To worry about things that you cannot control or accept can make you terribly unhappy and dissatisfied, and can create a life of bitterness rather than happiness and acceptance. To accept things as they are and move on from there is really a way to live a better life with more real satisfaction and joy. To not love things as they are, and always be in conflict with these things only brings sadness and depression. Therefore, I think loving things as a necessity is the secret to a happier, more fulfilling life.
