Commenting about these views Justice Breyer wrote, "The word licensing in the federal law should be read to mean employment-related licensing systems and not all licenses." (Liptak, 2011) This is significant, because it showing the different policy positions that the Supreme Court Justices are taking in relation to the law that has been enacted in Arizona. As, it is illustrating how the Supreme Court has been supporting policy decisions that are designed to give the states more power in setting regulations vs. that of the federal government.

The Policy Decisions of Governor Christie for the State of New Jersey

In New Jersey, Governor Christie has been aggressively promoting a 10-year program called the Energy Master Plan (EMP). The way it works is the state is encouraging electric utilities to produce energy through a variety of alternative resources to include: wind, nuclear power and natural gas. Commenting about these changes Governor Christie said, "The EMP supports the development of new energy-related technologies such as fuel cells, offshore wind, and alternatively fueled vehicles while encouraging the developers, providers and supporting businesses related to these technologies, to locate here in New Jersey." (Gallucci, 2011) This is significant, because it is showing how the Governor of New Jersey is focused on finding alternative sources of energy that will help to: support the business community and build the state's economy over the long-term.
